    Ensuring safety involves the use of models and techniques to identify, assess and treat the impacts of multiple hazards. It also requires the organization of activities that concern the people in charge of operations, as well as product designers and project managers. These activities take place in an environment including many other stakeholders (administration, subcontractors, etc.). The overall management of these activities is therefore very complex. A weakness in this managerial activities leads to a high probability of accidents. Control of this management is therefore fundamental.

    Unit 1. ISO 9001. Quality Management

    This Unit introduces the ISO 9001:2015 standard. It identifies the stakes addressed by the standard, sets out its requirements, and provides practical and effective implementation solutions.


    Unit 2. ISO 31000. Management du risque (version française)  

    Vous êtes quotidiennement en présence de nombreux risques dans votre vie professionnelle, personnelle, etc. Jusqu’alors, vous aviez recours à votre intuition pour révéler, dans chaque circonstance, une façon particulière et souvent peu efficace de les aborder. Cette unité présente la norme ISO 31000 qui propose une démarche systématique et complète de management du risque.


    Unit 2. ISO 31000. Risk management (English version)

    In your day-to-day professional and personal life, you face numerous risks. Until now, you used your intuition to detect, on a case-by-case basis, a specific and often ineffective way to tackle them. This unit presents the ISO 31000 standard, which offers a systematic and comprehensive risk management approach.

    • Virginie GROB was a QSE manager for 15 years, initially with ALSTOM and then with AREVA. Currently, she is training the QSE managers of tomorrow. Her mission is to sensitize managers from all departments to the techniques of piloting and improving performance. 

      She teaches in universities as well as in several prominent training organizations. She helps companies obtain their ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 et QUALIOPI certificates. She is also an auditor for the ISO 9001 and QUALIOPI certificates.





      Gilles MOTET is a Professor at the National Institute in Applied Sciences (INSA), University of Toulouse (France). Since 2017, he is the Director of the development of “Safety Engineering & Management” online platform seamonline.insa-toulouse.fr. Since 2007, he is the Head of “Safety Engineering & Management”, a one-year Advanced Master. He was the Scientific Director of the Foundation for an Industrial Safety Culture (Foncsi), a public interest research foundation (2005-2015).

      Previously, he was the Director of a research laboratory at INSA Toulouse, France. He was one of the French experts in charge of the development of the ISO 31000 standard.
