Personal details

INSA informs users that personal details are required for administrative needs (first name, surname, email address and login username), pedagogical purposes (city, country, login information, courses taken, activities performed, quiz results, forum threads), certification of completion (first name, surname, unit, module, reference number), identity verification (first name, surname, date of birth, passport or French ID card, photo), examination (first name, surname, date of birth, date of exam, addressed courses, results), and graduation (first name, surname, date of birth, graduation or not, diploma). These data are kept at INSA.

Administrative and pedagogical data are retained for 3 years from the last login, unless the user requests that their account (login) be deleted. The certification data are retained for 10 years to confirm the certificates completed, unless the user requests that their account (login) be deleted. Data required for identity verification (passport or French ID card, photo) are retained for 1 month. The other associated verification data (first name, surname, date of birth, and result of the verification) and the examination data (first name, surname, date of birth, date of exam, addressed courses, results) are retained as the administrative and pedagogical data. The graduation data are retained for 50 years to confirm INSA awarded the person.

Users undertake to give full and accurate information, which is not harmful to the interests and rights of 3rd parties. Personal details and user contact details are taken for the exclusive use of the INSA and will not be disclosed to any 3rd party without express authorization. The user gives his/her consent to the registration of these data for the specified retention periods in accordance with Article 6.1 (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of data (GDPR).

In accordance with the French law on “Information technology, Data files and Civil liberties” (January 6th 1978) amended by the data protection act (law n° 2018-493 of June 20, 2018) to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of data (GDPR), users are entitled to view, change, rectify and delete certain data held on them by the INSA.  More precisely, each user can autonomously change the following identification data (name, surname, city, country and email address) by modifying his/her profile or during the ID verification. A user can download the data recorded on the Learning Management System.  Each user can request the suppression of his/her data by deleting his/her account, at any time before their deadline, except for certificates that are protected for 10 years and for diplomas that are protected for 50 years (French instruction on the sorting and conservation of archives in national education departments and establishments (DAF DPACI/RES/2005/003 of February 22, 2005 or BOEN n°24, June 16, 2005).
